Numbers of Stay-at-Home Dads Rise Dramatically
The number of American men who have completely left the workforce to raise children has more than doubled over the past decade to 176,000, according to a New York Times report on census data. Some half a million other dads serve as primary caretakers for their families while maintaining freelance or part-time jobs. More men now feel it's socially acceptable to be stay-at-home dads, even if secure jobs are available to them, the Times says.
