College Admissions Officers Do Look at Facebook
35% of U.S. college admissions officers who went online to investigate candidates found evidence that hurt an applicant's chances of acceptance, according to a survey by Kaplan Test Prep. Offenses included plagiarism, illegal activities, and obscenities in blog posts. About one-quarter of admissions officers say they sometimes check Google or Facebook to find out more about applicants.
