| Despite the booming popularity of online matchmaking, some dating sites have done little to help women overcome the taboo of making the first move in contacting a stranger, says Mikolaj Jan Piskorski of Harvard Business School. As a result, women send far fewer messages than men when looking at profiles. Online dating companies could do more to help people who are having trouble meeting the right person, Piskorski suggests.
