When the hiring manager has to turn into a Sales Manager !

Dear Recruiter / Hiring Manager ! If you're sitting in the interviewer's seat, you might think you have all the power. Not so fast ! If you're looking for top talent, for a top post, you're likely interviewing someone who has MANY OPTIONS ! Be humble. Treat her / him like would, a prospective big customer ! Treat them with utmost politeness and courtesy , especially when asking tough questions . Whether they join nor not, respect their choice ! Give a good interview experience ! Then, anything is possible ! Who know, they may refer you an equally wonderful candidate who fits your JD like T !

 (2) You need to spend as much time selling the job and organization to the candidate as you spend evaluating his skills. How ?

Instead of focusing only on things like "Tell us more about your last job" or "How are you going to add value?" ask: "If you were given this opportunity, would you take it?"

(3)  Understanding whether the applicant really wants this job or if she is just "shopping" is a crucial part of any interview. The answer will help you determine how much time and energy to put into a seemingly promising candidate.
